Why study in United Kingdom?
Build your UK shortlist around the qualification, course content and licensed student sponsor. Check whether you need a foundation or other pathway, and compare the full cost and academic progression conditions. An admission offer and permission to enter or remain in the UK are separate decisions.

Make a strong start
Admission requirements & language
- Check the provider's entry criteria and its assessment of your previous school or degree qualification.
- Confirm the English evidence accepted for the course and the relevant Student visa requirements.
- Meet offer and payment conditions and check the details in your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies before applying.
Language preparation
Check course admission requirements and the Student visa English rules. An institutional waiver should not be assumed to satisfy every visa circumstance.

Use the course's actual entry date, application deadline and CAS timetable; a general intake month does not guarantee availability.
Your document checklist
Prepare academic records, identity documents, language evidence and any course-specific references, statement or portfolio. Ask the institution about translations and verification. Keep the admission checklist separate from the visa checklist.

A budget you can plan around
Tuition fees & living costs
Compare tuition for the whole course, any deposit and compulsory fees, then add accommodation, transport and other living expenses. Include the visa fee and immigration health surcharge where applicable, and check the current required financial evidence separately.
Build your study budget
- Tuition & course fees
- Use the current written fee schedule for your exact course.
- Living expenses
- Compare accommodation, food, transport and essential personal costs.
- Insurance & applications
- Include required cover, visa charges and document preparation.
- Travel & contingency
- Allow for flights, arrival costs and changes in exchange rates.
Budget currency: GBP. A living-cost budget and the visa authority’s required financial evidence may be different.

Scholarships & financial support
Research institution awards and official programmes such as Chevening where eligible. Check the level, nationality, course and selection conditions, and whether the award covers tuition, living expenses or both. Scholarships are competitive and have their own deadlines.
Record each award’s deadline, documents, coverage and renewal conditions. Keep a workable plan for costs that an award does not cover.

Student visa & residence guidance
The Student visa requires an eligible course with a licensed sponsor, the appropriate CAS, financial evidence and the relevant English and other requirements. Check the current GOV.UK document guidance, including any TB or ATAS requirement applicable to your situation.
Use the current official instructions for your nationality, programme and place of application. Admission and immigration decisions are made separately. Nexo can help you organise your questions and preparation; the relevant authority decides the application.

Plan beyond the classroom
Work during study & graduate options
Student employment depends on visa conditions. GOV.UK currently states that the Graduate route lasts two years for applications by 31 December 2026, or 18 months from 1 January 2027; doctoral graduates have a three-year route, subject to eligibility. Check the rules again before applying.
Build your study budget around available funds. A possible future job should not be treated as confirmed funding.
